Cat Town Tours Schools across Wales in 2022!
2022 Hate Crime Awareness Puppet Show Tours Schools across Wales.

PuppetSoup were thrilled to take our special show, ‘Cat Town’, about Hate Crime Awareness, diversity, equality and inclusion on tour across Wales in Spring 2022.

‘Cat Town’ is a piece of puppet theatre created with Gwent Police and Monmouthshire County Council in 2019 to create a way of discussing protected characteristics, diversity, equality, inclusion and Hate Crime Awareness with children aged 7-13 years old.

This exciting piece of puppet theatre created to tour to schools offers audiences the chance to see quality puppet theatre on a large theatrical scale that delivers a powerful message in a unique way. In 2022 Cat Town had a fantastic set redesign by talented theatre designer Jacob Anderson which made the world of Cat Town come even more to life, bringing you amazing pieces of set like the ‘Catomatic’ and rotating backdrops which reveal different parts of the Cat Town world to excited young audiences.

The tour across South and Mid Wales was enormously successful with thousands of children engaged in poignant and thoughtful discussions and workshops following the show.

Here’s what one teacher had to say…

“Once again, we would like to thank you for a superb puppet show and workshop! The message about differences that came from the show ‘Cat Town’ was done in a very creative way and was so effective to say the least. The puppeteers, puppets and the story were brilliant and the pupils were seen to be emotionally attached to the characters’ story. Even the teachers had tears in their eyes! The workshop also was fun and effective for the pupils and the adult interaction with the pupils were fantastic!

We would definitely recommend  PuppetSoup to other schools and would love to have them back in school to promote different issues. They were incredibly professional! It’s a show that will stay with the pupils and teachers for a long time as I’m also sure the message will too.”
