PuppetSoup make and deliver projects with organisations and community groups that have a positive impact on the people involved and aim to further our mission of 'Puppetry. For Everyone'.
Our projects are delivered by a multi-award winning, talented and friendly team who are enthusiastic and hard working and understand that puppetry is a transformative artform that encompasses all other art forms..
Below is a selection of some of the projects we have founded and been involved with, working with brilliant organisations such as the NHS, schools, the RSPB, Gwent Police, The Arts Council Wales, Monmouthshire County Council, The Unicorn Theatre in London, Black Dog Theatre and the Scouts.
We are always open to making and founding new partnerships to create projects that benefit the community and make puppetry accessible for everyone.
PuppetSoup were honoured to have been asked to teach at the California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) in the USA by world leading puppetry education specialist, Professor Johnna Smith.
PuppetSoup have worked with many schools to develop our shows.
Young people benefit from connecting with artists and understanding the process of theatre production, and the artists benefit from feedback from a younger audience and the fresh new ideas that young people can bring to theatre.
Working with Gwent Police and Monmouthshire County Council to create 'Cat Town' a show about difference.
PuppetSoup were commissioned to develop, devise, make and perform a show for primary schools for Hate Crime Awareness Week.
The result was a powerful show that discusses difference in an understandable way for ages 7-13years.
PuppetSoup approached doctors at St Mary's Hospital London to see how we could collaborate to develop work that would be of benefit to the NHS. The result was the show 'Fix Freddie!' that went on to win the Liz Molyneaux prize for work within paediatric medicine.
Black Dog Theatre Company work towards better mental health for their members and utilise puppetry in their performance work. PuppetSoup are happy to continue providing workshops and partnership with this brilliant company.
