Puppetry of the Woods

PuppetSoup were delighted to have been commissioned by ARTSCAPE and their partners to create a very special puppetry project in Hafren Forest and Llanidloes, Mid Wales in Autumn 2021.

​

'Puppetry of the Woods' aimed to give everyone the chance to get involved with puppetry, the arts and the 'local-global' environment through a range of exciting activities that took place during Autumn and winter 2021 to coincide with COP26.

  • PUPPET THEATRE TRAIL!  

We placed puppet theatres to interact with and enjoy in Hafren Forest. People could take puppets to the forest that they made with PuppetSoup and go on a PUPPETRY ADVENTURE in the woods!

  • FREE PUPPET MAKING WORKSHOPS

For adults and children, delivered by five star theatre company PuppetSoup! We had over 470 attendees! That's a lot of puppets!

 

  • PUPPET FILMS!  

We asked people to send in their puppet photos and videos to make a community puppet film about our local and global environment - see the video about the project below!

 

  • COMMUNITY EVENT! 

Due to Covid restrictions we had an online gathering where we had some more puppet making fun, learned to draw with talented artist Jacob Anderson and shared the videos of our work and that of the community!

We created a PUPPET THEATRE WALKING TRAIL at Hafren Forest - wonderful leaflets were produced by talented Theatre Designer and Artist Jacob Anderson.
