PuppetSoup Teaching Puppetry at the University of California San Bernardino, USA.
PuppetSoup were honoured to have been asked to teach at the California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) in the USA by world leading puppetry education specialist, Professor Johnna Smith.
Over several months PuppetSoup taught the art of Teatro Lambe Lambe Puppetry to the talented students at CSUSB which culminated in a very special festival of Teatro Lambe Lambe puppetry in December 2021.

Students from CSUSB developed their own new pieces of Teatro Lambe Lambe puppetry, made all their own puppets, created set, lighting design, soundscapes and stories and then performed both live and recorded pieces of theatre for audiences in the USA.
Professor Johanna Smith is a world leading puppetry educator and author who has published an excellent book called ‘Puppetry in Theatre and Arts Education’ which we highly recommend.
Teatro Lambe Lambe puppet theatre is a form of miniaturised theatre that we at PuppetSoup specialise in. The form of theatre began in Brazil in 1989 and was created by Ismine Lima and Denise Dos Santos. Fagner Gastaldon, PuppetSoup’s founder is originally from Brazil and has been performing this type of special puppet theatre for over 25 years. We offer in person and online courses and workshops to individuals, groups, universities and education establishments in this very specialised form of theatre, its history and its cultural context within South America.
