Production Development and Assistance
This course is for theatre companies, performers, puppeteers, students, teachers and anyone wanting to use puppetry in their own work, show or production.

You will be tutored by multi award winning theatre professionals who have specifically trained and qualified in Puppetry, Performance and Design from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London and who have had many years of performance and teaching experience.

Objective:

To bring puppetry into your own performance work.
​
Learn how the puppet can be used in performance by exploring the life inside the object and its relationship to the performers and the audience.
​
Learn how to build a fully working puppet (or puppets) from your own design and to go on to construct these to include in your own work.
​
Get detailed advice, feedback and assistance from theatre professionals about your work and how to include puppetry within it.

This is a course available to experienced performers, theatre companies or to complete beginners.
The course can be undertaken at any time of the year to suit your schedule providing that we have availability in ours!
​
Assistance is available on a one to one basis or for groups of adult learners.
The course is suitable for adults over 18 years of age and can be taken online, at your location or at our rehearsal spaces and puppet making spaces near the beautiful Brecon Beacons in Wales.

We can help you with all aspects of your own production and how to include puppetry within it.
Please discuss your specific requirements such as performance coaching, direction, making or design when you get in touch. Options could include:

Learning techniques of performance with objects and examining the relationship that exists between the puppet, puppeteer and audience.

Help with theatre and set design.

Help with puppet design.

Access to our bespoke puppet making workshop.

Assistance from professional theatre makers, designers and performers.

How many days your course lasts is up to you, please discuss your objectives when booking.
We aim to structure the assistance to suit the needs of your project.

Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits are available through the day when taking the workshop in our own space.
​
This course is completely tailored to your needs. Please email if you have any questions at all.
Days usually run from 11am - 6pm with up to an hour’s break for lunch.
​
Costs for this course are completely bespoke, however as an example of costs, we have provided a 3 day course for four adults, with access to our puppet making workshop and rehearsal space, taught by the two directors of PuppetSoup for £600. (£100 per day per director of PuppetSoup).
