About PuppetSoup as teachers of puppetry

We regularly teach in community centres, with youth groups and work across rural and urban settings. We also offer fun online classes for a wide range of community and family groups.

We are experienced working with different age ranges and working with people of all abilities.

Both Directors of PuppetSoup have over 15 years of experience teaching and performing puppetry and both hold Honours degrees specifically in Puppetry from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

You can be assured that you are hiring seasoned professionals who can deliver a quality experience to your group.

PuppetSoup can provide all the materials required for making puppets and our courses and workshops can range from an hour to a multiple days. We can even offer long term partnership or projects if you would like to discuss this possibility.

A few of the workshops we can provide to your youth or community group include:

Puppet Playtime – For younger puppet enthusiasts – we bring the puppets, they play! Ages 3 – 6yrs

Shadow Puppetry – Make, play and perform beautiful shadow puppets – suitable for all ages. This course can also be delivered online.

Puppet Making from Recycled Materials - Children learn to reuse their recycled materials to make fantastic puppets and help the environment. This course can also be delivered online. 5 - 11yrs

Meet the puppets – We bring professional puppets from our five star shows for young people to meet and to learn about puppet making, design and construction.

For ages 8 – 13yrs

Make your own puppet theatre box – A creative whole day workshop making a miniature puppet theatre and puppets out of recycled materials. This course can also be delivered online. 8 – 11yrs

Micro Theatre Construction – Create a beautiful micro theatre and puppets. Design and make your own theatre from found objects, recycled materials or dedicated craft materials. This course can range from two days to a whole week and can also be delivered online. 11- 14yrs

Advanced puppet theatre box (Teatro Lambe Lambe) - A whole week workshop creating beautiful unique miniature puppet theatres. This course can also be delivered online. 13yrs - Adult

Play in a day - A very special whole day workshop where PuppetSoup works with your class to make a range of puppets and then perform a puppetry play at the end of the day.

Online classes with pre-made puppet making packs sent to your school - PuppetSoup are experienced online teachers, ensuring that adults or young people stay engaged through an exciting and fun filled online puppet making workshop. Every participant receives a hand made puppet making pack from PuppetSoup (sent to your group in advance of the course) and then the group are taken through designing, assembling and decorating their puppet. For ages all age groups.

Technical Theatre – Sound Design, Set Design, Light Design, Costume Design – Tailored workshops for 12 – 18yrs

Object Theatre Performance Workshop – Create and perform with puppets from everyday life objects 12 – 18yrs

Puppet Design – Professional lessons in designing puppets and their mechanisms Suitable for ages 12 – 18yrs

Performance coaching – Individual coaching for the aspiring theatre performer or for groups studying theatre or puppetry. For ages 13 – 18yrs. Suitable for drama school audition coaching.
